PM Introduces 10 Million Digital Wallets for BISP Beneficiaries with Direct Payments

The Prime Minister of Pakistan officially launched 10 million digital wallets for BISP beneficiaries in September 2025. This initiative is a major step towards financial inclusion, transparency, and digital empowerment for low-income families across the country. Through these wallets, beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) will now receive payments directly into their accounts without delays or deductions.

What Are BISP Digital Wallets?

The BISP digital wallets are mobile-based financial accounts created to ensure that beneficiaries can access their monthly installments safely. Instead of waiting at campsites or facing long queues, beneficiaries can now withdraw money using digital wallets from ATMs, mobile banking apps, or partner outlets.

Key Benefits of Digital Wallets for BISP Beneficiaries

1. Transparency and Security

Digital wallets reduce the chances of fraud, deduction, and delays. Payments are transferred directly into the account of each beneficiary.

2. Financial Inclusion

Millions of women who previously had no access to banking services will now be part of the digital financial system.

3. Ease of Withdrawal

Beneficiaries can withdraw cash from ATMs, banking agents, and retail shops, making the process simple and accessible.

September 2025 Update – Who Will Get These Wallets?

In the first phase, 10 million eligible BISP families will be provided with digital wallets. These wallets will be linked with their CNICs, ensuring that only genuine beneficiaries receive payments.

How Beneficiaries Can Use the Wallets

  • Beneficiaries will receive a registration message from BISP.
  • They will be guided to activate their digital wallet through the nearest bank branch or mobile banking agent.
  • Once activated, payments such as the Rs. 16,500 quarterly installment will be directly transferred to these wallets.

Government’s Vision Behind the Initiative

The government’s vision is not only to distribute financial aid but also to empower women with digital literacy. This move aligns with Pakistan’s broader goals of digital transformation and poverty reduction.

Conclusion

The launch of 10 million BISP digital wallets is a groundbreaking step in September 2025, ensuring that financial aid reaches the right people without hurdles. With enhanced transparency, accessibility, and financial inclusion, this initiative will transform the way low-income families manage their support funds.
